The multi-component ring-opening reactions of cyclic ethers offer an efficient strategy for the rapid introduction of multiple functional groups and the construction of complex molecular architectures. Despite the minimal ring strain in five- and six-membered rings presenting a significant challenge for ring-opening, advancements have been made. Traditional acid-catalyzed pathways have been complemented by a novel approach involving carbene-induced oxonium intermediate formation, which has emerged in recent years and expanded the selectivity of ring-opening reactions.

Significant strides have been made in emotion recognition from Electroencephalography (EEG) signals. However, effectively modeling the diverse spatial, spectral, and temporal features of multi-channel brain signals remains a challenge. This paper proposes a novel framework, the Directional Spatial and Spectral Attention Network (DSSA Net), which enhances emotion recognition accuracy by capturing critical spatial-spectral-temporal features from EEG signals.

Background: The prognostic significance of the Naples prognostic score (NPS) in colorectal cancer remains uncertain. This study aims to investigate the correlation between the pretreatment NPS and long-term oncological outcomes in patients with colorectal cancer.

Methods: A comprehensive literature search of electronic databases, including PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science, was conducted up to July 1, 2024.

Recent technological advancements have enabled the collection of intensive longitudinal data (ILD), consisting of repeated measurements from the same individual. The threshold autoregressive (TAR) model is often used to capture the dynamic outcome process in ILD, with autoregressive parameters varying based on outcome variable levels. For ILD from multiple individuals, multilevel TAR (ML-TAR) models have been proposed, with Bayesian approaches typically used for parameter estimation.

Objectives: To assess the prognostic value of Fluorine 18-labeled fluorodeoxyglucose [F]FDG, gallium 68-labeled fibroblast-activation protein inhibitor-04 [Ga]Ga-FAPI-04, C-acetate in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and evaluate the potential usefulness and advantages of different combinations for accurate diagnosis.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six patients with suspected hepatic masses were prospectively enrolled from May 2021 to September 2022 and underwent [F]FDG, [Ga]Ga-FAPI-04, and C-acetate PET/CT scans before surgery. PET/CT results and histopathologic examinations were independently interpreted by two radiologists and pathologists, respectively.
