Objective: To evaluate the effect of diode laser (GaAlAs-980 nm) for full coronal pulpotomy (FCP) compared to conventional crown pulpotomy (CCP) in mature teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (SIP) and assess dentine bridge formation after FCP using CBCT.
Methods: A total of 86 patients (43 per group) with SIP in permanent mandibular molars were included. Access opening and FCP were done, after which haemostasis was achieved with 2.
Context: Pit and fissure sealants (PFSs) are the most effective preventive materials in dentistry. Secondary caries around the sealed pits and fissures at the material-tooth interface and the wear of the material remains the common problems. To address these problems, efforts have been made by incorporating zinc oxide (ZnO) and calcium fluoride (CaF) nanoparticles (NPs) into the sealants to develop caries-inhibiting and stress-bearing sealants.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFAim of the present study was to synthesize titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) from marine actinobacteria and to develop an eco-friendly azo-dye degradation method. A total of five actinobacterial isolates were isolated from Chennai marine sediments, Tamilnadu, India and analyzed for the synthesis of TiO2 NPs using titanium hydroxide. Among these, the isolate PSV 3 showed positive results for the synthesis of TiO2 NPs, which was confirmed by UV analysis.
