Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a fatal X-linked recessive disease affecting approximately 1 in 3500 births. It is characterized by a genetic lack of dystrophin, which is an essential protein for maintaining muscle integrity. The lack of dystrophin plays a pathophysiological role in the development of dilated cardiomyopathy in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Methods: DNA of healthy individuals, adenoma (tubular or villous/tubulovillous) patients, and colorectal carcinoma patients who underwent colonoscopy was used for assessing the prevalence of aberrant DNA methylation of human DNA mismatch repair gene mutator L homologue 1 (hMLH1), Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A (CDKN2A/p16), and O-6-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase (MGMT), as well as their relation to MSI.
Results: The frequency of promoter methylation for each locus increased in the sequence healthy tissue/adenoma/carcinoma.
The aim of this experimental study was to investigate the effect of diclofenac sodium and ketoprofen, two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) with different excretion pathways, and the role of other enteric factors during simultaneous administration of these drugs on the development of mucosal lesions of the small intestine in canines. Twenty-five animals were divided into three groups. Group I included 10 canines, 5 with diclofenac sodium (group Ia) and 5 with ketoprofen administration (group Ib).

The Mab ER-ICA was used in a modified peroxidase-antiperoxidase method after pretreatment of paraffin sections with pronase. Eleven cases with proliferative, 11 cases with secretory endometrium, 20 cases with adenocystic, 21 with adenomatous hyperplasia and 27 endometrial adenocarcinomas were tested.

Extensive immunophenotypic analysis on paraffin and frozen sections revealed positivity on the neoplastic cells for protein S-100 as well as for antigens CD1, HLA-DR, CD4, CD25 (IL2R) and CD30 (Ki-1). The simultaneous positivity for the three activation antigens CD30, HLA-DR, and IL2R, a phenomenon mostly described in H and S-R cells of Hodgkin's disease, is discussed in particular.
