Therefore, it is essential to have multidisciplinary teams including surgeons specialized in esophageal pathology, with a high caseload, to ensure proper diagnosis and management. Meckel's diverticulum corresponds to the aberrant involution of the omphalo-mesenteric canal or vitelline duct, which is located at the level of the antimesenteric border of the terminal ileum. It is the most common structural anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract, it is almost always asymptomatic and its diagnosis is usually incidental, however the complication with diverticulitis is an unusual condition. We describe the case of a 65-year-oldman, who was admitted from another institution with a diagnosis of acute abdomen.

Revisiting the sharp/dull discrimination as clinical measure of spinothalamic tract function considering the International Standards for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (ISNCSCI). The development of biomaterials endowed with bioactive features relies on a simultaneous insight into a proper terminal sterilization process. FDA recommendations on sterility of biomaterials are very strict: a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10(-6) must be guaranteed for biomaterials to be used in human implants. In the present work, we have explored the potential of supercritical CO(2) (scCO(2)) in the presence of H(2)O(2) as a low-temperature sterilization process for thermoset materials and their bioactive surfaces.
