Objective: Heterotaxy syndrome is a complex multisystem abnormality historically associated with high morbidity and mortality. We sought to evaluate the early and long-term outcomes after cardiac surgery in heterotaxy syndrome.
Methods: This is a single-center retrospective review of patients with heterotaxy syndrome undergoing single-ventricle palliation or primary or staged biventricular repair from 1998 to 2018.
Background: In patients who have difficulty holding their breath, a free breathing (FB) respiratory-triggered (RT) bSSFP cine technique may be used. However, this technique may have inferior image quality and a longer scan time than breath-hold (BH) bSSFP cine acquisitions. We sought to identify preoperative cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) predictors of outcome in patients with HLVs who underwent BiV repair, with a focus on the mitral valve (MV).
Methods: Single-center retrospective analysis of preoperative CMRs on patients with HLV (≤50 mL/m) and no endocardial fibroelastosis who underwent BiV repair from 2005-2022.
Purpose To develop an end-to-end deep learning (DL) pipeline for automated ventricular segmentation of cardiac MRI data from a multicenter registry of patients with Fontan circulation (Fontan Outcomes Registry Using CMR Examinations [FORCE]). Materials and Methods This retrospective study used 250 cardiac MRI examinations (November 2007-December 2022) from 13 institutions for training, validation, and testing. The pipeline contained three DL models: a classifier to identify short-axis cine stacks and two U-Net 3+ models for image cropping and segmentation.
