Introduction: The fear of falling (FoF) usually increases in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD); however, it can decrease despite repeated falls for unknown reasons. This phenomenon is similar to the findings that the patients with PD show lower emotional responses in the decision-making during the Iowa gambling task (IGT) than of those without PD. The decision-making during the IGT is reportedly correlated with interoceptive accuracy.

Insulin-like growth factor-1-induced activation of ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) improves muscle mitochondrial function through an Akt-dependent mechanism. In this study, we examined whether Akt1 deficiency alters skeletal muscle fiber type and mitochondrial function by regulating ACLY-dependent signaling in male Akt1 knockout (KO) mice (12-16 weeks old). Akt1 KO mice exhibited decreased body weight and muscle wet weight, with reduced cross-sectional areas of slow- and fast-type muscle fibers.

Previous neuroimaging studies have reported dual-task interference (DTi) and deterioration of task performance in a cognitive-motor dual task (DT) compared to that in a single task (ST). Greater frontoparietal activity is a neural signature of DTi; nonetheless, the underlying mechanism of cortical network in DTi still remains unclear.
