Single-cell multiomic comparison of mouse and rat spermatogenesis reveals gene regulatory networks conserved for over 20 million years.

Spermatogenesis is driven by dramatic changes in chromatin regulation, gene transcription, and protein expression. To assess the mechanistic bases for these developmental changes, we utilized multiomic single-cell/nucleus RNA sequencing (sc/snRNA-seq) and single-nucleus assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing (snATAC-seq) to identify chromatin changes associated with transcription in adult mouse and rat testes. We characterized the relationships between the transcriptomes and chromatin of both species, including the divergent expression of Id4 in spermatogonial stem cells between species.

The acceptability of compassion-focused therapy in clinical populations: a metasynthesis of the qualitative literature.

Background: Compassion-focused therapy (CFT) is a psychological intervention that is increasingly used in UK NHS services, either in an individual or a group format, with individuals experiencing psychological difficulties. Reviews of the quantitative evidence suggest that CFT effectively improves psychological well-being in various clinical groups. Participant experiences of group CFT in those with psychological difficulties have also been explored in several published qualitative and mixed-methods studies.

Teratogenesis, Perinatal, and Neurodevelopmental Outcomes After In Utero Exposure to Antiseizure Medication.

This practice guideline provides updated evidence-based conclusions and recommendations regarding the effects of antiseizure medications (ASMs) and folic acid supplementation on the prevalence of major congenital malformations (MCMs), adverse perinatal outcomes, and neuro-developmental outcomes in children born to people with epilepsy of childbearing potential (PWECP). A multidisciplinary panel conducted a systematic review and developed practice recommendations following the process outlined in the 2017 edition of the American Academy of Neurology Clinical Practice Guideline Process Manual. The systematic review includes studies through August 2022.

Updated Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy, Flexible Ureterorenoscopy, and Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy for Lower Pole Renal Stones.

Lower pole stones (LPSs) frequently cause significant morbidity, necessitating effective intervention strategies. We systematically reviewed the evidence for treatment of LPSs with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), flexible ureterorenoscopy (FURS), and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) previously in 2015. In this update, we have included 16 new randomised controlled trials plus eight from our original review (24 in total).

The impact of COVID-19 during the first two years: Giving voice to pediatric nurses.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the experiences of pediatric nurses providing direct care in a variety of settings during the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
