Brazil and Argentina are two of the South American countries that perform the highest number of solid organ transplant procedures globally each year. These procedures are not exempt from risks for the recipient, and there is a risk of donor-derived infections. Risk mitigation measures for disease transmission from donor to recipient are essential, and biovigilance systems play a crucial role to inform authorities and provide data for the definition of screening procedures and prevention of donor-derived infections.

A new model of reserve, the Sensory, Emotional, and Cognitive Reserve (SEC) model, has been recently proposed, but so far this model has not been operationalized in instruments to evaluate the different domains of the reserve. This study introduces the SEC reserve inventory (SECri) along with preliminary data obtained from a study involving 57 adults, aged 35 and older. The SECri assesses the SEC domains using specific proxies: (a) sensory reserve (SR) through sensory acuity and sensory perception proxies; (b) emotional reserve (ER) through life events, resilience, and emotional regulation proxies; and (c) cognitive reserve (CR) through education, occupation, socioeconomic status, bilingualism, leisure activities, and personality traits proxies.

Objective: To evaluate the color change (ΔE) and fluorescence (FL) of resin composites after the consumption of beverages.

Materials And Methods: One hundred and sixty disc-shaped specimens (6 × 2 mm) of Filtek Z350 XT (FZX) and Forma (FOR) resin composites were randomized for use in devices by five volunteers who ingested 100 ml daily of red wine (RW), beer (BE), energy drink (ED) and water (WT) over 15 days. The data were collected from digital photographs and analyzed using the CIE-Lab and RGB scales to obtain ΔE and FL and statistics via two-way ANOVA (for ΔE) and ANOVA for repeated measures (for FL), α = 0.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of different mouthwash solutions on the color stability of a nanohybrid composite resin. Forty discs of Luna nanohybrid composite resin were prepared and randomly assigned to 4 experimental groups (n = 10), determined by the type of immersion solution: distilled water (DW); Oral-B Pro-Health mouthwash (OBPH); Listerine Total Care mouthwash (LTC); or Colgate Plax Infinity mouthwash (CPI). The discs were immersed in solution for 30 minutes a day and stored at 37°C for 24 hours.

The evaluation of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) has become a critical issue in neuropsychology, but existing instruments for evaluating ADL have some limitations. This work aims to propose a new instrument to evaluate ADL, the ADL Inventory (ADLI), for which we present preliminary data. The ADLI was developed based on a comprehensive model of the stages of test development and following a combined framework of the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health and the American Occupational Therapy Association models.
