Background And Aims: Heart failure (HF) is an imminent global health problem. Yet established screening algorithms for asymptomatic pre-HF, allowing for early and effective preventive interventions, are largely lacking. The HERZCHECK trial, conducted in structurally underserved rural regions of North-Eastern Germany, aims to close this gap by evaluating the feasibility, diagnostic efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of a fully mobile, telemedically-supervised screening approach, combining cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and laboratory testing as central elements.

The assessment of rectal temperature and behavior is an important parameter in all patients for whom hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy is used. The study aims to verify if there is less reduction in body temperature after HBO therapy in restless patients and their behavior during the therapeutic session. Clinical data from 217 HBO therapy sessions with 2 to 2,5 atmospheres absolute (ATA) were reviewed under therapy protocols of 30 (P1) or 45 (P2) minutes, covering 29 canines and 13 felines.

Background And Objective: In Germany, all new drugs undergo an early benefit assessment (EBA) by the decision-making body (G-BA). Due to limited access to clinical data in pediatric healthcare since 2017, evidence transfer has allowed for data from adult studies to be used in the EBA of pediatric drugs. This study examines the acceptance of evidence transfer, aiming to understand its correlation with granted added benefit.

Triple Pelvic Osteotomy Provides Joint Stability and Acetabular Bone Stock Following Hip Hemiarthroplasty for Ewing Sarcoma: A Pediatric Case Report.

Case: Triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO) is used to treat developmental dysplasia of the hip in a pediatric population. This case report highlights a new indication for this procedure. Acetabular coverage was restored in a 9-year-old patient who experienced instability following hip hemiarthroplasty and proximal femur composite allograft implantation for the treatment of Ewing sarcoma.
