In contrast, infrared-visible sum-frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy reveals details of the atomic structure and bonding via vibrational resonances, but conventionally lacks spatial information.

Although infections in humans caused by R. ornithinolytica are uncommon, there are increasing reports implicating it in urinary tract infections, hepatobiliary infections, and bacteremia, designating it as an emerging pathogen.

Scaling Relationships of Maximal Gape in Two Species of Large Invasive Snakes, Brown Treesnakes and Burmese Pythons, and Implications for Maximal Prey Size.

Snakes are a phylogenetically diverse (> 3500 species) clade of gape-limited predators that consume diverse prey and have considerable ontogenetic and interspecific variation in size, but empirical data on maximal gape are very limited. To test how overall size predicts gape, we quantified the scaling relationships between maximal gape, overall size, and several cranial dimensions for a wide range of sizes (mass 8-64,100 g) for two large, invasive snake species: Burmese pythons () and brown treesnakes (). Although skull size scaled with negative allometry relative to overall size, isometry and positive allometry commonly occurred for other measurements.

Somatic Reversion of a Novel Mutation Resulting in Atypical X-Linked Combined Immunodeficiency.

Mutations of the gene, which encodes for the interleukin-2 receptor common gamma chain (γ, CD132), can lead to X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (X-SCID) associated with a TBNK phenotype as a result of dysfunctional γ-JAK3-STAT5 signaling. Lately, hypomorphic mutations of the gene have been described causing atypical SCID with a milder phenotype. Here, we report three brothers with low-normal lymphocyte counts and susceptibility to recurrent respiratory infections and cutaneous warts.
