The ImageGuideEcho Registry: Using Data Science to Understand and Improve Echocardiography.

Purpose Of Review: To provide a contemporary update on the American Society of Echocardiography's ImageGuideEcho Registry and present a case study of an individual institution's experience with enrollment.

Recent Findings: Technical innovation in clinical echocardiography has expanded the impact of echocardiography in cardiovascular care and provides new opportunities to leverage clinical data to inform quality improvement initiatives and research. The ImageGuideEcho Registry is the first echocardiography-specific imaging registry in the United States and provides a data infrastructure for quality improvement and multicenter research.

Associations of a metal mixture and vitamin D with sleep duration among adolescents and young adults from the 2011-2018 NHANES cycles.

Introduction: Heavy metal exposure has been associated with poor sleep, but little is known about the cumulative associations of multiple metals with sleep duration, particularly among adolescents. This study examined the association of blood lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and mercury (Hg) concentrations with sleep duration and possible effect modification by vitamin D.

Methods: The study sample consisted of 16-25-year-olds (n = 2637) from the 2011-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.

Transhepatic venous access for catheter ablation of right and left side atrial arrhythmias in adults: challenges and outcomes.

Introduction: Electrophysiologic (EP) procedures are typically performed via the femoral venous system, but in some patients, the inferior vena cava (IVC) is unavailable. The hepatic vein has emerged as a viable alternative to femoral access, providing an inferior route that accommodates large sheaths required for better catheter manipulation. Although the percutaneous transhepatic approach has been used successfully in the pediatric population, its use in adults is scarce, with a complication rate of approximately 5 %.

The impact of genetic variability on Alzheimer's therapies: obstacles for pharmacogenetic progress.

Introduction: Genetic load influences the therapeutic response to conventional drugs in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Pharmacogenetics (PGx) is the best option to reduce drug-drug interactions and adverse drug reactions in patients undergoing polypharmacy regimens. However, there are important limitations that make it difficult to incorporate pharmacogenetics into routine clinical practice.

Introduction: Acute undifferentiated febrile illnesses are fevers lasting less than fourteen days without an evident focus of infection on the initial physical examination or with inconclusive laboratory tests.

Objective: Carry out epidemiological surveillance of the etiology of acute undifferentiated febrile syndrome in the Meta department.

Methods: A descriptive, prospective cross-sectional study was carried out between February 2021 and June 2023 in a first-level hospital in the department of Meta, Colombia.
