Background: Assessing the potential increased risk of viral rebound (VR) in migrants requires adequate control for sex and acquisition risk groups.

Methods: People living with HIV1, enrolled in the ANRS CO4-French Hospital Database on HIV, who achieved virological suppression with antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiated between 2006 and 2016 were included. We first compared the risk of VR, with loss to follow-up and death considered as competing events, across origin among the HIV acquisition groups, then across acquisition groups among the different origins, and finally across modality of a variable combining sex, acquisition group, and origin.

An extract of calyces from with hypoglycemic activity is being considered as a potential herbal medicine. Preclinical pharmacokinetics (PK) studies of the extract in rats, focusing on plasma concentrations of its main compound, rutin, and its metabolites, revealed PK interactions in the extract matrix that improved the absorption of rutin metabolites compared to the pure compound, among other PK effects. This research aimed to study the PK of rutin alone and in the extract and assess potential PK interactions in the extract matrix on the flavonoid and its metabolites in rabbits, a nonrodent species; Animals received pure rutin or extract orally and intravenously.

Article Synopsis
  • The study observes the melting of a vortex lattice in a rapidly rotating quasi-two-dimensional Bose gas due to thermal fluctuations.
  • Researchers analyzed vortex positions and lattice order using specific correlation functions after a time-of-flight expansion, varying the rotation frequency while keeping atom number and temperature constant.
  • The results indicate a melting transition, evidenced by changes in orientational correlations linked to an increase in dislocations, aligning with established theories of two-dimensional melting.

Introduction: Prevention of cardiovascular disease is a major issue in the current management of people living with HIV. Concern is growing about the metabolic impact of integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs), which could lead to an increased risk of diabetes, but the data are conflicting. This is an updated version of our previous analysis, with longer follow-up and new molecules.
