Background: Metabolic syndrome represents a pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) risk factor. Metabolic alterations favor PDAC onset, which occurs early upon dysmetabolism. Pancreatic neoplastic lesions evolve within a dense desmoplastic stroma, consisting in abundant extracellular matrix settled by cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs).

The objective of this scoping review was to: 1) map the existing literature on erythromelalgia in youth, 2) identify knowledge gaps, and 3) inform directions for future research in pediatric erythromelalgia. One hundred and sixty-seven studies reporting 411 cases of childhood-onset erythromelalgia were identified.

So far, this approach has been primarily investigated in chromophore-stable radical systems. Here, we extend this concept to a linked oxovanadium(IV) porphyrin-free-base porphyrin dimer.

Recent studies based on biopsy and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) approaches have linked the viral episomal status to aggressive SCCA phenotypes, suggesting a potential role of the 16E5 oncoprotein in tumor development. Our previous findings indicated that 16E5 induces Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 2 (FGFR2) isoform switching, aberrant mesenchymal FGFR2c expression, Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition (EMT), and cell invasion in various in vitro human keratinocyte models, as well as in the in vivo context of cervical Low-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions (LSILs).

Several studies have reported the presence of MNPs in lung tissue and the potential role of MNP inhalation in triggering lung fibrosis and tumorigenesis. However, there is a paucity of knowledge regarding the cellular response to MNPs composed of polyethylene (PE), one of the most common plastic pollutants in the biosphere.
