Structure, Optical and Electrical Properties of Nb(Zn) Doped Sol-Gel ITO Films: Effect of Substrates and Dopants.

We present comparative studies of sol-gel ITO multilayered films undoped and doped with Nb or Zn (4 at.%). The films were obtained by successive depositions of five layers using the dip-coating sol-gel method on microscopic glass, SiO/glass, and Si substrates.

The impact of vitamin D3 administration and of high fat diet on oxidative stress and inflammation in experimentally induced polycystic ovary syndrome.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is commonly associated with obesity and may be exacerbated by the lack of vitamin D3.

Aim: The study aimed to investigate the effects of vitamin D3 administration in female rats with PCOS and prolonged high fat diet (HFD).

Methods: Forty-four female Wistar rats, 180-200 g, 10 weeks old, were randomly allocated into 2 groups (n=22) that received a single dose intramuscular injection of: sesame oil (group I), or estradiol valerate (5 mg) in sesame oil (group II).

'Folfirinox' chemotherapy combined with contact x-ray brachytherapy 50kVp and 'CAP50' chemoradiotherapy aiming at organ preservation for selected intermediate distal-middle cT2-T3 rectal cancers: A feasibility study.

Purpose: The standard treatment of T2-T3 rectal adenocarcinoma is radical proctectomy by total mesorectal excision often combined with some neoadjuvant treatment. To reduce morbidity of this surgery, organ preservation strategy using various combination of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and local excision is gaining interest. Some randomized trials have proven the feasibility of such approaches.

Combining immunotherapy and radiation therapy in gastrointestinal cancers: A review.

Introduction And Purpose: With a significant global impact, treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers still presents with challenges, despite current multimodality approaches in advanced stages. Clinical trials are expanding for checkpoint inhibition (ICI) combined with radiation therapy (RT). This review intends to offer a comprehensive image of the current data regarding the effectiveness of this association, and to reflect on possible directions to further optimize the results.
