While increased electric vehicle (EV) adoption will contribute to the electrification process, EVs can also offer capabilities to provide services during an outage.

Drug treatments for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) dramatically improve patient outcomes, and although extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has significant use in these patients, it is unknown whether ECMO affects drug dosing. We used an ex vivo adult ECMO model to measure ECMO circuit effects on concentrations of specific COVID-19 drug treatments. Three identical ECMO circuits used in adult patients were set up.

The database consists of a medium and a high impact case associated with the earthquake scenario.

Driven by demand for high standards in university education, efforts have been made in the UK to address the perceived imbalance between teaching and research. However, teaching is still perceived by many as having less credibility and is attributed less importance. The purpose of our research was to explore how distinct types of academic job profiles ('research' or 'education' focused, or 'balanced') impact on biomedical scientists' perceptions of the lecturer role.

Recoil pressure is a critical factor affecting the melt pool dynamics during Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) processes. Recoil pressure depresses the melt pool. When the recoil pressure is low, thermal conduction and capillary forces may be inadequate to provide proper fusion between layers.
