Predictors of Potentially Inappropriate Stimulant Prescribing Among Adults.

Purpose: Increases in adult stimulant prescribing pose a potential risk due to the higher prevalence of contraindicated conditions among this population. We sought to identify patient, provider, and visit characteristics predictive of potentially inappropriate adult stimulant prescriptions.

Methods: We conducted a repeated cross-sectional study using the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, a nationally representative weighted sample of 5 453 702 723 ambulatory care visits from 2012 to 2019.

Protocol for quantifying muscle fiber size, number, and central nucleation of mouse skeletal muscle cross-sections using Myotally software.

Here, we present a protocol for using Myotally, a user-friendly software for fast, automated quantification of muscle fiber size, number, and central nucleation from immunofluorescent stains of mouse skeletal muscle cross-sections. We describe steps for installing the software, preparing compatible images, finding the file path, and selecting key parameters like image quality and size limits. We also detail optional features, such as measuring mean fluorescence.

Comprehensive analysis of targetable mutations and tumor microenvironment in urachal cancer.

Urachal cancer, a rare malignancy, generally presents in the clinical setting with advanced stages of disease. Systemic treatment with chemotherapy is generally utilized in this setting. However, there remains a paucity of data on the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors or targeted therapies for urachal cancer.

Cerebrospinal Fluid Composition of Infants with Ischemic Stroke.

Objective: To characterize the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of infants with stroke and compare those findings to the CSF of infants with bacterial meningitis and neither condition in the first 14 postnatal days.

Study Design: Cohort study of 30,092 infants who received a lumbar puncture in the first 14 postnatal days discharged from >300 neonatal intensive care units from 1997-2020. CSF parameters were compared between infants with stroke and bacterial meningitis using non-parametric hypothesis testing and quantile regression.
