[Prevalence of glucose metabolism disorders and thyropathies in the population of District 8 in Prague].

Based on an enquiry made by means of questionnaires sent by post, implemented in 1987 in five health communities of Prague 8, anamnestic data were obtained pertaining to glycoregulation and thyropathies from 5870 respondents. Based on these data the following conclusions were reached: 1. The prevalence of known disorders of glycoregulation, without specification, is in the population of Prague 8 7.

Influence of thyroid hormone supply on EEG frequency spectrum.

In 5 patients after total thyroidectomy followed by radioiodine ablation the frequency analysis of EEG based on fast Fourier transformation was performed and the results obtained during hypothyroid state and after the substitution treatment with thyroid hormones were compared. During the hypothyroid state the most remarkable finding was the increase of percentage representation of fast frequencies in beta 1 and beta 2 bands, while such values in alpha band including a dominant frequency in that band were reciprocally decreased. Prevalence of thyroid diseases in two samples of Czech population. A preliminary study.

Two preliminary pilot studies of prevalence of thyroid disorders in Central Bohemia (with mild endemy before the onset of iodine prophylaxis in 1948) were made: 1. Questionary survey of adult persons in Praha (1559 persons); 2. Clinical and laboratory investigation of 2015 employees of SKODA automobile works in Mladá Boleslav.
