The integration of textile-based sensing and actuation elements has become increasingly important across various fields, driven by the growing demand for smart textiles in healthcare, sports, and wearable electronics. This paper presents the development of a small, smart dielectric elastomer (DE)-based sensing array designed for user control input in applications such as human-machine interaction, virtual object manipulation, and robotics. DE-based sensors are ideal for textile integration due to their flexibility, lightweight nature, and ability to seamlessly conform to surfaces without compromising comfort.

Neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) is one of the major causes of irreversible blindness and is characterized by accumulations of different lesions inside the retina. AMD biomarkers enable experts to grade the AMD and could be used for therapy prognosis and individualized treatment decisions. In particular, intra-retinal fluid (IRF), sub-retinal fluid (SRF), and pigment epithelium detachment (PED) are prominent biomarkers for grading neovascular AMD.

To emphasize the risks of recurrent laryngeal nerve lesions during transhiatal oesophagectomy an anatomical study of the course of the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) was performed. Twenty RLN were dissected in their thoracic portion. This work showed the constancy of the low origin of the nerve in the adult under the aortic arch, and its course in the tracheal angle.
