Therapeutic benefit of larotrectinib over the historical standard of care in patients with locally advanced or metastatic infantile fibrosarcoma (EPI VITRAKVI study).

Background: Patients with infantile fibrosarcoma (IFS) have shown strong and long-lasting responses to larotrectinib, a tropomyosin receptor kinase inhibitor (TRKi), in single-arm clinical trials. Conventional chemotherapy has also shown important efficacy. But, until now, no comparative data exist.

Post-Traumatic Bio-Behavioral Rehabilitation of Adult Female Victims.

Objective: To determine if low resting basal AM cortisol and flat diurnal cortisol slope that has been reported in female abuse victims, which is dysregulated in the same way in female violent perpetrators, could be corrected and if healthier diurnal cortisol patterns are associated with less aggression in adult female victims.

Design And Methods: A non-experimental, naturalistic study evaluated if bio-behavioral rehabilitation could occur for females living in a Delaware homeless mission and participating in their programs. Basal salivary cortisol (AM, PM & slope), aggression, neurological conditions, general health, alcohol use, having been a victim of abuse, religion, spirituality and forgiveness were evaluated over one month between 2018 and 2019.

The evolution of offensive realism.

Offensive realism, a theory of international relations, holds that states are disposed to competition and conflict because they are self-interested, power maximizing, and fearful of other states. Moreover, it argues that states are obliged to behave this way because doing so favors survival in the international system. Debate continues as to whether modern states actually do, or should, behave in this way, but we are struck by a different question.

Interpretation and expectations among mothers of children with anxiety disorders: associations with maternal anxiety disorder.

Background: Models of the development and maintenance of childhood anxiety suggest an important role for parent cognitions: that is, negative expectations of children's coping abilities lead to parenting behaviors that maintain child anxiety. The primary aims of the current study were to (1) compare expectations of child vulnerability and coping among mothers of children with anxiety disorders on the basis of whether or not mothers also had a current anxiety disorder, and (2) examine the degree to which the association between maternal anxiety disorder status and child coping expectations was mediated by how mothers interpreted ambiguous material that referred to their own experience.

Methods: The association between interpretations of threat, negative emotion, and control was assessed using hypothetical ambiguous scenarios in a sample of 271 anxious and nonanxious mothers of 7- to 12-year-old children with an anxiety disorder.
