We present a theoretical study of the reshaping of subpicosecond optical pulses in the vicinity of double-peaked defect-mode frequencies in the spectrum of a one-dimensional photonic crystal with two defect layers and calculate the time delay of the transmitted pulses. We used the transfer matrix method for the evaluation of the transmittivity spectra, and the Fourier transform technique for the calculation of the transmitted pulse envelopes. The most considerable reshaping of the pulses takes place for pulses with a carrier frequency in the defect-mode center and with a spectrum wider than the half-width of the defect mode.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBy numerically solving equations of motion and constructing the spectrum of Lyapunov exponents, nonlinear dynamics of uniformly precessing magnetization in (110) thin film structures with perpendicular magnetic bias is investigated over a wide frequency range of the alternating field. Bifurcational changes in magnetization precession and the states of dynamical bistability are discovered. Conditions for the realization of high-amplitude regular and chaotic dynamic regimes are revealed.

Material And Methods: 31 IHD patients with SAE entered the double blind randomized trial. The patients received either amlodipin (5-10 mg once a day) or diltiazem (120-180 mg twice a day) for 4 weeks.
