Mechanisms involved in the supercooling of plant tissues as a means of low temperature survival are still not fully understood. We investigated properties that may promote supercooling in overwintering sweet cherry (Prunus avium) flower buds. We conducted experiments on sweet cherry flower buds using differential thermal analysis (DTA) and observed locations of ice formation in the bud structure.

The ring nematode, , has recently been found to be widespread in vineyard soils in the region. This study used field microplots to assess the potential impacts of a local population of on the first four years growth of either self-rooted 'Merlot' or 'Merlot' vines grafted onto three commonly used rootstocks: 3309C, 44-53M, and Riparia Gloire.

Little is known of the susceptibility of these new cherry rootstocks to , a recognized pest of temperate fruit trees worldwide. Two field experiments were planted in 2010, one in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia and one in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.

This experiment examined the δN and δO values in leachate collected over 1 yr at 55 cm below raspberry ( L.) plots receiving either synthetic fertilizer (FT) or poultry manure (MT).

Moreover, interactions between the stellar magnetospheres can produce considerable electromagnetic radiation. We study this scenario using fully general relativistic, resistive magnetohydrodynamic simulations.
