Growing evidence suggests an important role of the inflammatory component in heart failure (HF). Recent developments in this field indicate an ambiguous role that innate immunity plays in immune-driven HF. Damaged or stressed cells, cardiomyocytes, in particular, emit damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) including HMGB1, S100 A8/A9, HSP70, and other molecules, unfolding paracrine mechanisms that induce an innate immune response.

The anabolic effects require brief exposures to higher than average PTH concentrations. The catabolic effects result from pathological conditions in which parathyroid glands secrete too much hormone continuously at a sustained level. Systolic, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate were determined in normal rats and those exposed to influence of chronic stress during gestation. Data were registered six months after the birth and in 5, 24 and 48 hours after their immobilization. Analysis of the data showed that in rats undergoing stress, recorded systolic, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate both before and during all periods of immobilization were significantly below than in control group.

Calcium-regulating system is important for the functional activity of myocardium. However, little is known about the role of this system in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. The effect of 10-10 M parathyroid hormone (PTH) on Ca2+ levels and cAMP and cGMP contents in peripharyngeal ganglions of the snail Helix pomatia was studied by radioisotope and radioimmune methods; also, chemoreception of GABA was determined in the neuronal membrane. The levels of Ca2+ and cyclic nucleotides were increased in the ganglions. Co-addition of PTH with compounds increasing the levels of Ca2+ and cyclic nucleotides lowered these elevations of the levels of Ca2+ and cyclic nucleotides.
