A low-cost, high-performance video-based binocular eye tracker for psychophysical research.

We describe a high-performance, pupil-based binocular eye tracker that approaches the performance of a well-established commercial system, but at a fraction of the cost. The eye tracker is built from standard hardware components, and its software (written in Visual C++) can be easily implemented. Because of its fast and simple linear calibration scheme, the eye tracker performs best in the central 10 degrees of the visual field.

Effectiveness of mebeverine in patients with post-cholecystectomy gastrointestinal spasm: results of prospective observational program "odyssey".

Aim: To assess the effectiveness of mebeverine 200 mg BID in patients with post-cholecystectomy gastrointestinal spasm not requiring surgical treatment.

Materials And Methods: 218 patients were included in 16 clinical centers in 14 cities in Russia. All patients had post-cholecystectomy gastrointestinal spasms, not requiring surgical treatment and received mebeverine (Duspatalin®) 200 mg BID.

Effects of differently polarized microwave radiation on the microscopic structure of the nuclei in human fibroblasts.

To investigate the influence of microwave radiation on the human fibroblast nuclei, the effects of three variants of electromagnetic wave polarization, linear and left-handed and right-handed elliptically polarized, were examined. Experimental conditions were: frequency (f) 36.65 GHz, power density (P) at the surface of exposed object 1, 10, 30, and 100 µW/cm(2), exposure time 10 s.

The influence of differently polarised microwave radiation on chromatin in human cells.

Purpose: To determine the possible biological effects of differently polarised microwave radiation on the chromatin state in human cells.

Materials And Methods: Isolated human buccal epithelium cells were irradiated by microwaves of frequency f = 35 GHz and surface power density E = 30 microW/cm(2). The state of chromatin in human cells was determined by methods of light and electron microscopy.

Aim: Achievement of long-term effective control of blood pressure (BP) in patients suffering from arterial hypertension by means of elaboration of stage by stage program of antihypertensive therapy and proof of its advantage over prescription of hypotensive drugs in real clinical practice.

Material And Methods: Effect of spirapril on parameters of vasomotor function of the endothelium were assessed. In randomized comparative prospective study with 1 year duration we included patients with mild and moderate arterial hypertension.
