Purpose: We compared the efficacy and safety of alprostadil alpha-cyclodextrin and moxisylyte chlorhydrate to induce erections adequate for sexual intercourse in a prospective, randomized, parallel double-blind study in patients with erectile dysfunction.

Materials And Methods: A total of 156 men with erectile dysfunction due to organic, nonorganic and mixed origin was randomized into 2 parallel treatment groups receiving titrations of an individual optimum dose of alprostadil alpha-cyclodextrin or moxisylyte chlorhydrate. Erectile response was measured by the buckling test.

The authors report a simplified technique for uretero-ileal anastomosis. It avoids the opening of the ileal segment, avoids doing a direct anastomosis, leaves a 2 cm ureteric segment floating free inside the bowel lumen as a "flap valve". An ileal sleeve is made around the ureter, using the ileal wall, to prevent ileo-ureteral reflux.

The authors report a case of Cockett's syndrome discovered by ilio--cava angiography at a patient who was operated on a bilateral retro-iliac ureter which occasioned an important renal insufficiency. The authors report a case of acute small bowel occlusion related to anisakis. This parasitis is due to ingestion by man, an unusual host, of a nematode of "anisakis" type at larva stage, a parasite to be found in numerous species of raw or home-processed fish. The parasite whose symptomatology is aspecific, can be located on the whole digestive tube.
