Background: Since 1987 we have run a Dermatologic Surgical Paediatric Outpatient Clinic (DSPOC) within the Children's Hospital in Bordeaux.

Objective: We analyse the consequences of an audit survey concerning the management of patients with congenital nevi (CN) seen at this clinic.

Methods: We reviewed the cases of 192 children examined and photographed at the DSPOC during the period January 1990-December 1997.

Introduction: Cutaneous lichen planus in children is a rare entity. To study its specific clinical and therapeutic features, we report on 8 cases seen in 5 years in a pediatric dermatology clinic. In parallel, this study addresses the role of HBV immunization campaigns in childhood lichen planus.

Skin diseases due to Nocardia are rare in Europe and usually occur as the secondary localization of a pulmonary lesion in immunocompromised patients. We describe a cutaneous pyoderma and cold abscess due to Nocardia asteroides infection in a cardiac transplant recipient. An insect bite represents the wound of this soil saprophyte belonging to the actinomycetes.

Introduction: Soft tissue melanoma was described in 1965 by Enzinger who used the term clear-cell sarcoma. In 1983, Chung and Enzinger coined the term soft tissue melanoma due to the immunohistochemical similarity with melanoma. We report a case of this rare type of melanoma.
