TNIK: A redox sensor in endothelial cell permeability.

Dysregulation of endothelial barrier integrity can lead to vascular leak and potentially fatal oedema. TNF-α controls endothelial permeability during inflammation and requires the actin organizing Ezrin-Radixin-Moesin (ERM) proteins. We identified TRAF2 and NCK-interacting kinase (TNIK) as a kinase directly phosphorylating and activating ERM, specifically at the plasma membrane of primary human endothelial cells.

A nurse-led multidisciplinary service for Nipple-Areola complex tattooing after breast cancer: reporting on a complex intervention with TIDieR analysis.

Background: The Nipple-Areola Complex (NAC) tattooing can restore physical and mental integrity after breast cancer, but it is not always easily accessible for women. This paper aims to report on the development of a multidisciplinary nurse-led service for NAC tattooing for women who underwent breast cancer surgery with NAC removal to allow its thorough review and replication.

Clinical Interventions Following Escalations from a Continuous Respiratory Monitoring Service in Patients With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Background: Continuous respiratory monitoring can support integrated care for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients, by coupling them with remote clinical personnel who triage patients in coordination with their health care providers. When deploying such services, there remains uncertainty surrounding outcomes when at-risk patients are proactively identified and escalated for provider evaluation. This study presents findings from a service deployed in a real-world COPD cohort by analyzing the clinical interventions made during in-person and telehealth pulmonary outpatient visits following remote escalations.
