Young adults, particularly college students, report a higher prevalence of risky sexual behavior than the general population, increasing their likelihood for unplanned pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and negative psychological outcomes. Although sexual risk behavior and its consequences are a major public health concern, current prevention literature is insufficient and relies on sexual risk measures with limited psychometric support. The present study, therefore, examined the psychometric properties of a sexual risk survey (SRS; Turchik, Garske, in Arch Sex Behav 38:936-948, 2009), using data from the first year of a longitudinal study following the outcomes of college students with and without attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD; N = 410).

Coastal wetland responses to sea-level rise are greatly influenced by biogeomorphic processes that affect wetland surface elevation. Small changes in elevation relative to sea level can lead to comparatively large changes in ecosystem structure, function, and stability. The surface elevation table-marker horizon (SET-MH) approach is being used globally to quantify the relative contributions of processes affecting wetland elevation change.

Objective: Stimulants are the most common and efficacious treatment for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We examined the relationship between stimulant misuse and social factors that could be malleable to prevention among American Indian (AI) adolescents.

Method: Participants were AI students (N=3498) sampled from 33 schools in 11 states.

Objective: In venous leg ulcer (VLU), the impaired healing has been shown to be associated with excessive levels of protease activities such as matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and elastases found in exudates. The present study focused on exudates absorption and proteases trapping capacity of a new generation of polyacrylate superabsorbent, Tegaderm superabsorber (TS), compared with a traditional dressing such as Zetuvit.

Method: We studied the proteases implicated in VLU (MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-9 and PMN elastase).
