Effects of Therapeutic Hypothermia and Minimal Enteral Nutrition on Short-Term Outcomes in Neonates with Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy: A 10-Year Experience from Oman.

Background: Therapeutic hypothermia (TH) is the standard treatment for moderate to severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in developed countries, but data on its safety and efficacy in low-middle-income countries are limited and often conflicting. The impact of enteral feeding during TH remains inadequately explored. We aimed to examine TH's effects on mortality and brain injury and evaluate the safety and effectiveness of minimal enteral feeding during TH.

Predisposing factors for excessive loss of weight in exclusively breastfed term and late preterm neonates - a case control study.

Background: Exclusively breastfed healthy neonates can lose weight excessively due to poor milk production, inadequate enteral intake or due to poor milk transfer. The studies assessing risk factors for infants to lose weight excessively are diverse and results are highly varied.

Objectives: We aimed to determine the risk factors for weight loss of over 10% in term and late preterm newborns who were exclusively breastfed.

Salivary pH and Buffering Capacity as Risk Markers for Early Childhood Caries: A Clinical Study.

Background: The diagnostic utility of saliva is currently being explored in various branches of dentistry, remarkably in the field of caries research. This study was aimed to determine if assessment of salivary pH and buffering capacity would serve as reliable tools in risk prediction of early childhood caries (ECC).
