Objective: The objective of this work was to evaluate if task-specific training (TST) preceded by bilateral upper limb motor priming (BUMP) reduces upper limb impairment more than TST preceded by control priming ([CP], sham electrical stimulation) in people with chronic stroke.
Methods: In this single-blind, randomized controlled trial, 76 adults with moderate to severe upper limb hemiparesis ≥6 months post-stroke were stratified by baseline impairment and randomized to receive either BUMP or CP prior to receiving the same TST protocol. Participants completed 30 h of treatment in 15 days over 6 weeks.
The motor impairments experienced by people with Parkinson's disease (PD) are exacerbated during memory-guided movements. Despite this, the effect of antiparkinson medication on memory-guided movements has not been elucidated. We evaluated the effect of antiparkinson medication on motor control during a memory-guided reaching task with short and long retention delays in participants with PD and compared performance to age-matched healthy control (HC) participants.

Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is the most common manifestation of cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction in Parkinson's disease. In this viewpoint, we discuss five practical questions regarding OH in Parkinson's disease: 1) How common is the problem? 2) Why should people with Parkinson's disease and providers care about OH? 3) What are the symptoms of OH? 4) How to confirm a diagnosis of OH? And 5) How to treat OH? OH is an important non-motor symptom of Parkinson's disease for which we have available treatments to significantly mitigate morbidity and possibly positively impact the disease course.

Methods: Eleven participants with PD and STN-DBS completed the visually-guided saccade paradigms with OFF, RIGHT, LEFT, and BOTH stimulation. Rightward saccade performance was evaluated for three paradigms and two target eccentricities.
