The molten-salt-mediated oxidative dehydrogenation (MM-ODH) of ethane (CH) via a chemical looping scheme represents an effective carbon capture and utilization (CCU) method for the valorization of ethane-rich shale gas and concurrent mitigation of carbon dioxide (CO) emissions. Here, stepwise experimentation with LiCO-NaCO-KCO (LNK) ternary salts (i) assessed how each component of the LNK mixture impacted ethane MM-ODH performance and (ii) explored physicochemical and thermodynamic mechanisms behind melt-induced changes to ethylene (CH) and carbon monoxide (CO) yields. Of fifteen screened LNK compositions, nine exhibited ethylene yields greater than 50 % at 800 °C while maintaining CH selectivities of 85 % or higher.

Insulinoma-associated protein 1 (INSM1) immunohistochemistry has been established as a sensitive and reliable immunohistochemical marker for detecting neuroendocrine differentiation in tumors across various organ systems. However, this marker has not been adequately investigated in primary thymic neuroendocrine tumors. We have studied a series of 27 cases of primary neuroendocrine carcinomas of the thymus, including 3 typical carcinoids, 18 atypical carcinoids, 4 large cell neuroendocrine carcinomas, and 2 small cell carcinomas.

Lymphoepithelial carcinoma (LEC) of the salivary gland is a rare squamous cell carcinoma. LEC commonly presents in the parotid and submandibular glands and rarely in the sublingual gland. While salivary gland LEC has a predilection for Inuit-Yupik and Chinese populations, few cases have been reported in the Hispanic population and none for sublingual glands in the English language literature.

Pastes and "foams" containing liquid metal (LM) as the continuous phase (liquid metal foams, LMFs) exhibit metallic properties while displaying paste or putty-like rheological behavior. These properties enable LMFs to be patterned into soft and stretchable electrical and thermal conductors through processes conducted at room temperature, such as printing. The simplest LMFs, featured in this work, are made by stirring LM in air, thereby entraining oxide-lined air "pockets" into the LM.
