The continuous increase of water distribution networks (WDNs) in size and complexity poses significant management challenges, including a high risk of failures. Due to the intrinsic interconnected feature of water flow, including losses, this study proposes a methodology based on graph correlation and multilayer network analysis for leak detection and localization in WDNs with multiple components (infrastructure, control devices, hydraulic sensors). The detection process involves correlating monitored data to create a temporal graph and classify vertices.

In alga cultivation, invasive microorganisms often hinder growth, necessitating strategies to combat these issues. This study aimed to develop recycled substrates for alga cultivation by repurposing fishing nets and enhancing their surfaces with antibacterial properties using copper oxide (CuO).

Objectives: To analyze the prevalence of work accidents in Brazil between 2016 and 2020 according to geographic region, age group, and sex and analyze the prevalence according to the cause and economic activity type.
Methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study based on data from the Social Security Statistics Yearbook.

Purpose Of Review: Since its discovery, most research on fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) has focused on its antihyperglycemia properties. However, attention has recently shifted towards elucidating the ability of FGF21 to lower circulating lipid levels and ameliorate liver inflammation and steatosis. We here discuss the physiology of FGF21 and its role in lipid metabolism, with a focus on genetics, which has up until now not been fully appreciated.

Developing a vaccine against malaria demands innovative strategies, and targeting gametocyte antigens shows promise for blocking transmission prevention. Among these antigens, Pvs47, expressed in gametocytes, has shown remarkable efficacy in transmission blocking.
