The vast majority of theoretical and empirical research assessing sexual assault (SA) focuses on man-against-woman SA (MWSA), leaving other forms such as woman-against-woman SA (WWSA) understudied. Relatively simple questions, such as the relative frequency of WWSA for women of different sexual orientations, the tactics (e.g.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a common but frequently unrecognized complication of obesity and type 2 diabetes. The association between these conditions is multifaceted and involves complex interactions between metabolic, inflammatory, and genetic factors. Here we assess the underlying structural and molecular processes focusing on the immunological phase of MASH in the nonobese inflammation and fibrosis (NIF) mouse model and compare it to the human disease as well as other murine models.

Objectives: To test the hypothesis that weight loss following bariatric surgery is associated with a reduced risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) compared with obese patients who do not undergo bariatric surgery.
Methods: We performed a cohort study using data from the Swedish nationwide healthcare registries. Patients aged 18-79 years who underwent bariatric surgery from 2006 to 2019 were propensity score (PS)-matched to up to 2 obese bariatric surgery-free patients ("unexposed patients").
Theory suggests that intolerance of uncertainty (IU), a tendency to perceive uncertain events as threatening, may serve as a potential risk factor for increased intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetration; however, few studies have investigated this association, and none have taken a longitudinal approach. We investigated the issue in two longitudinal online investigations (initial = 282 and 1,118), with time periods ranging from just before the COVID-19 pandemic to the fourth pandemic wave, approximately 1.5 years later.

Whether these associations hold for patients who undergo surgery at older ages is uncertain.
Objective: To determine whether bariatric surgery is associated with a decreased risk of obesity-related cancer and cardiovascular disease in patients who underwent surgery at age 60 years or older.
