Background: Garcinia kola is popularly used in African traditional medicine for the relief of acute bronchoconstrictive episodes.
Objective: In this study, we examined the anti-asthmatic and morphological effects of the ethanol extract of G. kola in animal model.
The os penis reported in some species of the mammalian order was observed in the juvenile and adult penes of the friguvorous African bat, Eidolon helvum. The morphology of the os penis in Eidolon helvum differs from that observed in bat species and other mammalian order. In the adult form it is large, disc-shaped and located at the distal segment of the penile organ.

This review summarizes some current information regarding the cell biology of this neuropeptide and the topography of MCH-immunoreactive (-IR) neurons in several species including mouse, rat, hamster, guinea pig, rabbit, dog and monkey; and atlas of MCH-IR neurons in the hypothalamus and subthalamus of the brain of guinea pig is presented. Based upon the location of this MCH cell group, it is hypothesized that they may be functionally involved in circuits of extrapyramidal motor systems from striatal centers to the thalamus and cerebral cortex and to the midbrain and spinal cord.

Cyclophosphamide (endoxan) which is a cytotoxic drug known to activate phosphoamidase and other lysosomal enzymes in neoplasm (Grillo, 1971) is proposed as another substrate for the enzyme for both light and electron microscopy.
