Beyond azide-alkyne click reaction: easy access to 18F-labelled compounds via nitrile oxide cycloadditions.

Radiofluorinated 4-fluorobenzonitrile oxide and N-hydroxy-4-fluorobenzimidoyl chloride rapidly react with different alkenes and alkynes under mild conditions. These cycloadditions are suitable for the preparation of low-molecular weight radiopharmaceuticals and, in a strain-promoted variant, can enable easy labelling of sensitive biopolymers.

A fully automated two-step synthesis of an (18)F-labelled tyrosine kinase inhibitor for EGFR kinase activity imaging in tumors.

Radiolabelled epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase (TK) inhibitors potentially facilitate the assessment of EGFR overexpression in tumors. Since elaborate multi-step radiosyntheses are required for (18)F-labelling of EGFR-specific anilinoquinazolines we report on the development of a two-step click labelling approach that was adapted to a fully automated synthesis module. 6-(4-N,N-Dimethylaminocrotonyl)amido-4-(3-chloro-4-fluoro)phenylamino-7-{3-[4-(2-[(18)F]fluoroethyl)-2,3,4-triazol-1-yl]propoxy}quinazoline ([(18)F]6) was synthesized via Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between 2-[(18)F]fluoroethylazide ([(18)F]4) and the alkyne modified anilinoquinazoline precursor 5.

Fe(III) complexes of 1,4,8,11-tetraaza[14]annulenes as catalase mimics.

The development of enzyme mimics of catalase which decompose hydrogen peroxide to water and molecular oxygen according to the 2:1 stoichiometry of native catalase and in aqueous solution at pH 7 and at micromolar concentrations of the enzyme model and hydrogen peroxide is reported. For this purpose, iron(III) complexes of 1,4,8,11-tetraaza[14]annulenes are prepared by various procedures. Efficacious preparations utilize reaction of the [N4] macrocyles with FeII salts in the presence of triphenylamine, followed by gentle oxidation of the FeII complexes by molecular oxygen or by tris(4-bromophenyl)aminium hexachloroantimonate.

Nurses' evaluations of a novel design for an electronic medication administration record.

An electronic medication administration record is at the intersection of several disciplines: medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health; however, it is the centerpiece of nurses' work for medication administration in acute care settings. Despite the crucial nature of the electronic medication administration record, human-computer interaction and health literature are silent about design recommendations and evaluations for such records. This study determined critical on-line medication management tasks for acute care nurses through videotaped, semistructured interviews with nurses and then observations of nurses during medication administration tasks.

A computerized medical incident reporting system for errors in the intensive care unit: initial evaluation of interrater agreement.

Errors resulting in adverse events in the medical care system are ubiquitous and underreported. Critical incident techniques that have been used to reduce errors in aviation have recently been applied to evaluate adverse events in the critical care arena. We report an evaluation of interrater agreement on responses to questions concerning adverse event reporting using a computer-based medical incident reporting system (MIRS).
