The DFT method was used to predict the formation energies and quadrupole coupling constants in a series of borophosphates: LiBPO, LiNaBPO, NaBPO, LiBPO, NaBPO, LiNaBPO and NaBPO composed of different networks and different amounts of borate and phosphate units. The change in formation energies with increasing number of B atoms in this series is attributed to the multiplicity of boron sites and is explained by density of states calculations. The calculated values of Li, Na and B are correlated with the coordination and distortion of polyhedra to elucidate the influence of local and more distant environments.

The nanosized (50-70 nm) pyrochlore BiFeTiO was prepared by a coprecipitation technique. Characterization of BiFeTiO was carried out by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Raman spectroscopy, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The study of Fe doping in BiTiO was performed by means of density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

Objective: To determine the long-term safety and tolerability profile of M207 in the acute treatment of migraine.

Background: M207 is an investigational microneedle-based system for intracutaneous delivery of zolmitriptan for the treatment of migraine attacks. Following on the positive results of a Phase 2/3 placebo-controlled efficacy study (ZOTRIP), this study was designed to evaluate the safety of this novel product during repeated use for the treatment of migraine attacks.

Olivine-type phosphate LiMgPO4 doped with rare-earth elements is currently considered as a new dosimetric material suitable for both OSL and TSL applications and able to compete with top commercial detectors. In this work, the samples of LiMgPO4:Er3+ were synthesized by the conventional solid state reaction method. We first studied X-ray luminescence and thermally and optically stimulated luminescence in LiMgPO4:Er3+ in detail.

M207 is an investigational intracutaneous microneedle therapeutic system for nonoral zolmitriptan delivery. In a Phase I trial, M207 provided faster absorption with a higher 2 h exposure than oral zolmitriptan. In the pivotal trial evaluating efficacy, tolerability and safety in moderate-to-severe migraine attacks, M207 3.
