Purpose: The objective of this study was to describe the sEEG-defined seizure onset zone (SOZ), seizure semiology, presurgical evaluations, surgical intervention and outcome in patients with midline onset noninvasive phase I monitoring.

Methods: A single center sEEG database was reviewed to identify patients with seizures onset predominantly involving midline electrodes (FZ, CZ, PZ, OZ) on scalp EEG. Data abstracted included clinical factors, seizure semiology graded into lobar segmentation, imaging and electrographic findings, sEEG plan, interventions, and outcome.

Background And Objective: To report the 3-year outcomes for endolaserless vitrectomy with intravitreal aflibercept injection (IAI) monotherapy for proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR)-related vitreous hemorrhage (VH).

Materials And Method: Eyes underwent endolaserless vitrectomy and received one preoperative and intraoperative IAI followed by randomization to a q8week or q16week IAI group. Additional IAI was administered as needed.

Permanently implanted devices that deliver electrical stimulation are increasingly used to treat patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. Primary care physicians, neurologists, and epilepsy clinicians may encounter patients with a variety of implanted neuromodulation devices in the course of clinical care. Due to the rapidly changing landscape of available epilepsy-related neurostimulators, there may be uncertainty related to how these devices should be handled during imaging procedures and perioperative care.

Manufactured nanoparticles (MNPs) undergo transformation immediately after they enter wastewater treatment streams and during their partitioning to sewage sludge, which is applied to agricultural soils in form of biosolids. We examined toxicogenomic responses of the model nematode Caenorhabditis elegans to pristine and transformed ZnO-MNPs (phosphatized pZnO- and sulfidized sZnO-MNPs). To account for the toxicity due to dissolved Zn, a ZnSO treatment was included Transformation of ZnO-MNPs reduced their toxicity by nearly ten-fold, while there was almost no difference in the toxicity of pristine ZnO-MNPs and ZnSO.

This study examined the impact of surface functionalization and charge on ceria nanomaterial toxicity to Caenorhabditis elegans. The examined endpoints included mortality, reproduction, protein expression, and protein oxidation profiles. Caenorhabditis elegans were exposed to identical 2-5nm ceria nanomaterial cores which were coated with cationic (diethylaminoethyl dextran; DEAE), anionic (carboxymethyl dextran; CM), and non-ionic (dextran; DEX) polymers.
