Oral leukoplakia (OL) has a propensity for recurrence and malignant transformation (MT). Herein, we evaluate sociodemographic, clinical, microscopic and immunohistochemical parameters as predictive factors for OL recurrence, also comparing primary lesions (PLs) with recurrences. Thirty-three patients with OL, completely removed either by excisional biopsy or by laser ablation following incisional biopsy, were studied.

Background: Canalicular adenoma (CA) is a benign salivary gland tumor (SGT) almost exclusively affecting the minor salivary glands, predominantly of the upper lip, and exhibiting characteristic histopathologic features. As observed in several other SGTs, a commonly encountered finding is the presence of prominent cystic morphology. Even though a multicystic appearance is usually noticed, solitary cystic CAs may rarely occur.

Mandibular third molar (M3) surgical extraction may cause periodontal complications on the distal aspect of the root of the adjacent mandibular second molar (M2). Patients older than 26 years with periodontal pathology on the distal surface of the M2 and a horizontal/mesioangular impacted M3 may benefit from bone regenerative therapy at the time of surgery. In this prospective case series, an alloplastic fully resorbable bone grafting material, consisting of beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and calcium sulfate (CS), was used for the treatment of the osseous defects after the removal of horizontal or mesioangular M3s in 4 patients older than 26 years.

There is no agreement of data on the subject of implant failure and the development of osteonecrosis in patients receiving antiresorptive agents. The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate whether dental implants placed in patients on antiresorptive medication have an increased failure rate and whether the implant placement or the implant existence are risk factors for developing medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). An electronic search was conducted in PubMed/Medline, and all publications fulfilling the inclusion criteria were included.
