CASE 1: A 24-year-old black woman was referred to our clinic in September 1999 by the department of dermatology. She was referred to confirm the diagnosis of pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE). Her medical history was normal.

Methods: We performed a cross-sectional and descriptive analysis of the data from patients diagnosed with tilted disc syndrome. Data were collected between January 2005 and August 2008 in a general ophthalmology practice.
Purpose: This report describes two cases of palpebral localisation of Tunga penetrans.
Methods: Two Congolese patients (a 17-year-old black man and a 12-year-old black girl) presented with a history of itching and oedema of the left upper eyelid.
Results: On inspection and slit lamp examination, the patients manifested the characteristic lesion of a white translucent papule with a central black pit.

Purpose: To determine the frequency and clinical characteristics of tropical endemic limbo-conjunctivitis (TELC).
Methods: A review of records of all patients aged 0-15 years with a diagnosis of tropical endemic limbo-conjunctivitis examined between January 2000 and February 2002. The diagnosis was based on interview and routine ocular examination.
Purpose: To determine the frequency of ocular abnormalities in patients with headache seen for an ocular examination.
Methods: All 944 consecutive new patients with headache examined during a 3-year period (1984-1986) at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, were enrolled in this retrospective study. All patients received an ocular examination which included measurement of visual acuity, refraction, slit lamp examination, and fundoscopy.
