Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) screening should be performed continuously at the primary care level in order to prevent disabling complications. Due to the high prevalence of undiagnosed T2D in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a decision was made to implement a nationwide screening program for T2D.

Objectives: The current study, taking into account the limited resources of Uzbekistan's health care system, aimed to offer the most effective, simple, and economical option required for the actual implementation of regular T2D screening in the country's primary care.

The authors have studied structural functional peculiarities of the left ventricle in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, dependent on the presence of cardiovascular form of diabetic autonomic neuropathy and dynamics of the studied parameters in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with cardiovascular form of diabetic autonomic neuropathy treated with alpha-lipoic acid. The study included 82 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The study has shown that the development of cardiovascular form of diabetic autonomic neuropathy results in dilatation and hypertrophy of the left ventricle walls, increase of its weight and impairment of diastolic function of the left ventricle manifesting itself by a decrease of early filling phase and an increase of myocardial hardness, as well as a decrease of cardiac rhythm variability and increase of QT-interval.

The authors present outcomes of inspection of 300 women suffering from genital endometriosis. Localization and thermocoagulation of endometriosis was performed by diagnostic and operative laparoscopy. After operation women were treated with hormonomodulative therapy.

A study was made of pharmacometabolizing liver function in 73 patients with thyrotoxicosis of various degree and duration. The antipyrine test was used to assess pharmacometabolizing liver function. In thyrotoxicosis of moderate severity and in severe forms with the period of the disease over 1 year the half-life increased and antipyrine clearance decreased.
