Background: Previous studies reported significant relationships between obesity and pulmonary dysfunction. Here, we investigated genetic alterations in the lung tissues of high fat diet (HFD) induced obese mouse through transcriptomic and molecular analyses.
Methods: Eight-week-old male C57BL/6J mice were fed either a normal chow diet (NCD) or HFD for 12 weeks.
Carboplatin resistance in retinoblastoma, an aggressive pediatric intraocular tumor, remains a major clinical challenge in treatment. This study elucidates the role of T-type calcium channels in carboplatin resistance using human retinoblastoma Y79 cells. We generated carboplatin-resistant Y79 (Y79CR) cells and characterized their electrophysiological properties.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is considered an effective and safe therapeutic modality in supporting the treatment of complications from a global pandemic-diabetes. In this study, PBM therapy is investigated to accelerate wound healing in diabetic mice (DM), under the combined biological effects of red light from a red organic light-emitting diode (ROLED) and near-infrared (NIR) light from an NIR conversion film (NCF) with dispersed CuInS/ZnS quantum dots (QDs). The QD concentration and the NCF structure were optimized to maximize the optical properties and mechanical stability.

Interleukin (IL)-6 is a surrogate marker for cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and acute GVHD.
Method: The clinical outcomes and complications of haplo-HSCT with PTCy plus ATG versus PTCy monotherapy were compared according to serum IL-6 levels at Chungnam National University Hospital (Daejeon, South Korea) from January 2019 to February 2023.
Obesity is a prevalent metabolic disorder linked to insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, increased adiposity, chronic inflammation, and cognitive dysfunction. Recent research has focused on developing therapeutic strategies to mitigate cognitive impairment associated with obesity. Insulin growth factor-1 (IGF1) deficiency is linked to insulin resistance, glucose intolerance, and the progression of obesity-related central nervous system (CNS) disorders.
