Natural Killer (NK) cells utilize effector functions, including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), for the clearance of viral infection and cellular malignancies. NK cell ADCC is mediated by FcRIIIa (CD16a) binding to the fragment crystallizable (Fc) region of immunoglobulin G (IgG) within immune complexes on a target cell surface. While antibody-induced clustering of CD16a is thought to drive ADCC, the molecular basis for this activity has not been fully described.

Policy decisions require comprehensive, spatially explicit information on species' distributions and threats. We present an analysis of the conservation status of 14,669 European terrestrial, freshwater and marine species (ca.

CT-LeSc can non-invasively quantify total coronary atherosclerotic burden and is an independent long-term predictor of cardiac events. Its calculation however relies on the subjective assessment of lesions using coronary computed tomography angiography and therefore is subject to intra- and inter-observer variability.

To evaluate the immunomodulatory actions of ghrelin isoforms in rainbow trout (RT), an in vitro model was utilized with primary cells isolated from fish head kidney (HKD). These RT-HKD cells were treated with synthetic rainbow trout ghrelin and its truncated isoform, desVRQ-ghrelin, over time (0, 2, 4, and 24 h).

As long-lived cells specialized for protein secretion, antibody-secreting B cells are an attractive target for foreign protein expression in blood and tissue. To neutralize HIV-1, we developed a lentiviral vector (LV) gene therapy platform for delivery of the anti-HIV-1 immunoadhesin, eCD4-Ig, to B cells.
