This work aimed to investigate the effect of a combination of microwave treatment and covalent binding of gallic acid (GA) on the structural and functional properties of peanut protein isolate (PPI). It was found that PPI exhibited the maximum solubility at microwave power of 480 W, 60 °C for 4 min. The microwave-treated peanut protein isolates (MPPI) had more binding sites than PPI.

Parkin, a cytosolic E3 ubiquitin ligase, plays a crucial role in targeting damaged mitochondria. The dysfunction of Parkin has been implicated in various diseases, including dyslipidemia, highlighting the significance of regulating Parkin activity for therapeutic interventions. Poria cocos (PC), a traditional Chinese medicine with a history spanning over two thousand years, has shown promising effects in regulating dyslipidemia.

Studies have shown that histidine 179A and 183A (HA) of the ZNF32 protein exhibit point-like nuclear speckles, but the causes of such speckle formation and their effects on breast cancer cells remain unknown. In this study, we prepared breast cancer cells containing ZNF32 HA, HA, and HA and observed nuclear speckles in all three cell types. Transcriptome analysis showed that these nuclear speckles may be related to changes in the activities of the cell growth factor and RNA polymerase II transcription factor.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), widely used for their therapeutic benefits, are associated with significant gastrointestinal complications, including the rare occurrence of colonic diaphragm disease (CDD). Characterized by diaphragm-like fibrotic strictures that narrow the intestinal lumen, CDD often leads to symptoms such as chronic anemia, bowel obstruction, and gastrointestinal bleeding. This report discusses a case of NSAID-induced CDD in a 58-year-old male with a history of prolonged NSAID use for osteoarthritis.
