The reverse transcription - polymerase chain reaction method (RT-PCR) has leading position on diagnostic infections, caused by RNA-containing viruses. This method presents severe requirements to carrying out of everybody stages of analysis (extraction of nucleic acid, carry out reverse transcription, amplification of DNA). It is necessary to account the possibility of false positive or false negative results appearance.

The distribution of gray squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) throughout the UK during the 20th century and the decrease in the population of red squirrels (Sciurus vulgaris) is one of the most well-documented cases of ecological change of local fauna by the introduced species. The tendency to expand the distribution of the smallpox virus from Great Britain to the Western part of Europe has been noted.

The reference is the 15th harmonic, generated by a semiconductor superlattice nonlinear device, of a signal at 182 GHz, which itself is generated by a multiplier chain (x12) from a microwave synthesizer at approximately 15 GHz.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFrequency multipliers based on superlattice (SL) devices as nonlinear elements have been developed as radiation sources for a terahertz (THz) laboratory spectrometer. Input frequencies of 100 and 250 GHz from backward wave oscillators have been multiplied up to the 11th harmonic, producing usable frequencies up to 2.7 THz.
