Positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) titration is crucial for improving oxygenation and preventing ventilator-induced lung injury in acute hypoxemic respiratory failure. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) offers real-time, bedside monitoring of lung ventilation distribution, potentially guiding individualized PEEP settings.

Recurrent GRHL fusions in a subset of sebaceoma: microscopic and molecular characterisation of eight cases.

Aims: Sebaceous neoplasms constitute a group of adnexal tumours, including sebaceous adenoma, sebaceoma and sebaceous carcinoma. Although mismatch repair deficiency may be observed, the nature of the genetic alterations contributing to the development of most of these tumours is still unknown. In the present study, we describe the clinical, microscopic, and molecular features of eight sebaceomas with GRHL gene rearrangement.

The Clinical, Morphologic, and Molecular Spectrum of BRAF Fusion Spitz Tumors.

BRAF fusion Spitz neoplasms along with MAP3K8 fusions are among the subtypes of Spitz most likely to be diagnosed as Spitz melanoma. However, the current literature has only limited amounts of clinical follow-up on these cases. In this study, we share our experience with 39 BRAF fusion Spitz neoplasms and provide the greatest number of cases with available clinical follow-up.

Schwannian and Perineuriomatous Differentiation in a Series of Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevi.

Close relationship between melanocytes and neural cells is accepted to reflect their common derivation from the neural crest and tumors combining both elements. We present a series of 10 patients with giant congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) in which a secondary proliferation (11 lesions) with schwannian and/or perineuriomatous differentiation developed in the course of the disease. The age of the patients (4 male and 6 female) at the time of surgery and histological assessment varied from 3 months to 57 years.
