A Prospective Randomized Trial Comparing Quality of Life in Adult Female Acne Treated with Azelaic Acid 15% Gel versus Oral Spironolactone.

Introduction: In several countries, recent research has shown an increase in the prevalence of adult female acne (AFA), defined as the acne that appears in women aged over 25. This disease brings some particularities and challenges, such as a greater impact on quality of life (QoL) and chronicity. A negative impact on QoL has been observed, as well as anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, and feelings of embarrassment and frustration.

Validation of the internal structure of the Brazilian Dental Vulnerability Scale.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate evidence of validity of internal structure of the Brazilian Dental Vulnerability Scale (EVO-BR) when applied in Brazil.

Methods: This is a psychometric study that seeks to validate a scale elaborated by evidence of internal structure. Data collection was conducted in 18 basic health units that implement the Brazilian Healthcare Planning (PAS) methodology, across the five regions of Brazil.

Quality of life and other psychological factors in patients with tooth wear.

Aim To investigate the relationship between generic and condition-specific (CS) quality of life, general psychological wellbeing and personality in patients with tooth wear.Materials and methods Ethical approval was granted (REC:10/H0709/21). Patients aged 18-70 years with tooth wear completed the Oral Impact on Daily Performance (OIDP) quality of life questionnaire, the NEO-FFI Personality questionnaire and the General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ).

Biomechanical planning for minimally invasive indirect restorations.

This paper explores the planning and execution of indirect partial-coverage restorations and will outline practical recommendations for maximising the outcomes for minimally invasive (MI) approaches to indirect restorations, with a special focus on vital teeth, endodontically-treated teeth and worn dentitions. Throughout the paper, the supporting evidence for each rationale for partial-coverage restorations will be considered, as well as the risks and benefits of adopting an MI approach to indirect restorations.
