The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is the biggest public health threat the world has seen in many years and poses new challenges and opportunities to healthcare systems. The new reality imposed by the pandemic requires a modification of practices to ensure the health and safety of patients and medical teams. Treatment of unreconstructible comminuted fractures of the radial head remains a therapeutic challenge. Thirty two patients sustained unreconstructible radial head fracture between 1969 and 1999 and have been treated by resection (16 patients), by Swanson implant (8 patients), or by Judet prosthesis (8 patients). The three groups of patients were reviewed clinically and radiologically by two surgeons not involved in their treatment.

One case of isolated traumatic dislocation of the radial head in a 59-years-old female secondary to an injury in pronation and extension of the non dominant left elbow is reported. Treatment consisted of immediate closed reduction followed by immobilisation in a plaster cast with the elbow flexed at 110 degrees, for 10 days. An MRI scan 2 months after the injury showed the lesion of annular ligament which did not have any clinical consequences.
