The raising economic importance of cannabis arouses interest in positively influencing the secondary plant constituents through external stimuli. One potential possibility to enhance the secondary metabolite profile is the use of UV light. In this study, the influence of spectral UV quality at different intensity levels on photomorphogenesis, growth, inflorescence yield, and secondary metabolite composition was investigated.

Time-Related Outcome Following Palliative Spatially Fractionated Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (Lattice) of Large Tumors - A Case Series.

Purpose: Lattice radiation therapy (LRT), a form of spatially fractionated radiation therapy, holds promise for treating large tumors. Despite its introduction in clinical practice around 2010, there remains limited information on its time-related outcomes despite consistently high response rates and tolerability. We assessed the time-related outcome of our palliative LRT cohort.

Parent Facilitation of Condom Access and HIV Testing Associated with Improved Sexual Health Outcomes for Sexual Minority Young Men.

Sexual minority young men experience a high HIV incidence. Parent-based interventions are promising for prevention efforts, but further research is needed to identify specific, replicable parental behaviors associated with improved sexual health outcomes for sexual minority young men. We assessed parental behaviors in the domains of facilitating access to condoms, providing instruction in condom use, and supporting HIV testing, and tested whether parental behaviors were associated with sons' condom use self-efficacy and intentions to get tested for HIV.

Language as social action: Gertrude Buck, the "Michigan School" of rhetoric, and pragmatist philosophy.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Gertrude Buck and collaborators developed a sociologically and pragmatist-informed approach to language that has been neglected in later scholarship. Buck approached the study of language from the standpoint of pragmatist functional psychology, which is indebted to John Dewey's pragmatism at the University of Michigan, and which views language as a normal, dynamic action of human organisms engaged in necessary cooperative relations with one another. Her approach overcomes the small-minded pragmatism that would criticize figurative or poetic language as impractical, and instead shows how figuration is essential to the particular ways in which language is action that conveys meaning to others and serves broader social functions.

History of Incarceration is Associated with Unmet Socioeconomic Needs and Structural Discrimination among Young Black Sexual Minority Men (SMM) in the United States.

There is a dearth of research on incarceration among young Black sexual minority men (SMM). The current study aimed to assess the prevalence and association between unmet socioeconomic and structural needs and history of incarceration among young Black SMM. Between 2009 and 2015, young Black SMM (N = 1,774) in Dallas and Houston Texas were recruited to participate in an annual, venue-based, cross-sectional survey.
