This study analyzed the effect of drought on seed germination and the morphological parameters of seedlings from ten winter wheat genotypes. Background: Microcytic anemia due to iron deficiency is the most common type of anemia in children in Israel and many parts of the world, and has been shown to have negative consequences for the cognitive performance. We aimed to examine the association between microcytic anemia at age 9-18 months and ADHD during childhood.

The case of a 29 year-old man who suffered a cardiac arrest due to a massive pulmonary embolism while he was undergoing surgical repair of a complex tibial plateau fracture is presented. After 70 min of unsuccessful cardiopulmonary resuscitation a bolus of 20 mg tenecteplase was given, with a return of spontaneous circulation 2 min after administration of the drug. Pulmonary embolism was subsequently demonstrated on a pulmonary angiogram.

A 71-year-old woman who had critical cerebral ischemia secondary to a carotid artery occlusion was receiving high-dose intravenous phenylephrine for a trial of hypertensive therapy. While on a maximal dose of phenylephrine she developed prominent positive U waves, which disappeared with the cessation of the drug. The possible underlying electrophysiological mechanisms of this phenomenon are discussed in this paper.
