Background: Acute ischemic lesions seen on brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are associated with poor intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) outcomes, but drivers for these lesions are unknown. Rapid hemoglobin decrements occur in the initial days after ICH and may impair brain oxygen delivery. We investigated whether acute hemoglobin decrements after ICH are associated with MRI ischemic lesions and poor long-term ICH outcomes.

Senescent cells accumulate in aging tissues, impairing their ability to undergo repair and regeneration following injury. Previous research has demonstrated that targeting tissue senescence with senolytics can enhance tissue regeneration and repair by selectively eliminating SnCs in specific aged tissues. In this study, we focused on eliminating senescent skin cells in aged mice to assess the effects on subsequent wound healing.

  • The Korean LST Decision Act, enacted in February 2018, has transformed end-of-life decision-making for children by promoting structured discussions and decision processes.
  • A study comparing patient records before and after the law showed a significant reduction in both total hospitalization and ICU stay durations, along with quicker end-of-life documentation.
  • Post-law, there was a notable increase in the use of POLST documents and LST withdrawal decisions, while DNR orders significantly decreased, indicating a shift in how end-of-life care is approached for terminally ill children.
