Fanconi anemia (FA) is a rare inherited disorder characterized by progressive bone marrow failure (BMF) and a predisposition to malignancy. Systemic reactive-oxygen species (ROS) and increased sensitivity of FA hematopoietic progenitors to ROS play a key role in the pathogenesis of BMF.
